The girls had volleyball camp today and the theme of the day was "Crazy Hair." We decided to go for cute hair instead. If you are on Pinterest you will see all these amazing "fishtail" braids. They are so pretty and easy to make. The fishtail braid reminded the girls of mermaids and that is how this project came to life.
We used our Cricut to make our mermaids. Ours are 5 1/2 inches tall. We used our Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge to cut out the bodies and the accessories. We colored and decorated our mermaids the way we liked and then we then cut off their legs. .
The next step was to hotglue the dolls to a hairclip.
I made a ponytail and then braided their hair in a "fishtail." Add some colored hairspray, clipped on the doll to the tail and voila - instant mermaid.
